Impact of inclusive hadron production data on nuclear gluon PDFs

چکیده
A precise knowledge of nuclear parton distribution functions (nPDFs) is---among other things---important for the unambiguous interpretation hard process data taken in $pA$ and $AA$ collisions at Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) LHC. The available fixed target deep inelastic scattering (DIS) Drell-Yan (DY) lepton pair production mainly constrain light quark distributions. It is hence crucial to include more collider global analyses nPDFs order better pin down different flavors, particular gluon small $x$. To help PDF, we extend nCTEQ15 analysis by including single inclusive hadron (SIH) from RHIC (PHENIX STAR) LHC (ALICE). In addition DIS, DY, SIH datasets, will also $W/Z$ data. As calculation dependent on hadronic fragmentation (FFs), use a variety FFs literature properly estimate this source uncertainty. We study impact these PDFs compare with both nCTEQ15WZ sets. calculations are performed using new implementation nCTEQ code (ncteq++) modified version incnlo, which allows faster precomputed grids. extension represents an important step toward next generation PDFs.

Semi-Inclusive Hadron Production at HERA: the Effect of QCD Gluon Resummation
We present a formalism that improves the applicability of perturbative QCD in the current region of semi-inclusive deep inelastic scattering. The formalism is based on all-order resummation of large logarithms arising in the perturbative treatment of hadron multiplicities and energy flows in this region. It is shown that the current region of semi-inclusive DIS is similar to the region of small...
متن کاملTheoretical Aspects of Inclusive Light-Hadron Production
We summarize the key results of a recent global analysis of inclusive singlecharged-hadron production in high-energy colliding-beam experiments. In the framework of the parton model of quantum chromodynamics at next-to-leading order (NLO), fragmentation functions (FFs) for charged pions, charged kaons, and (anti) protons are extracted from experimental data of e+e− annihilation at the Z-boson r...
متن کاملSummary of Session on Jets and Inclusive Hadron Production
Some highlights of the session on jets and hadron production are summarised. Results between different experiments and measurements are compared and, in particular, how LEP and HERA complement each other discussed. Improvements in both theory and experiment for jet and hadron production and how the measurements can be used to extract fundamental parameters are addressed.
متن کاملForward gluon production in hadron–hadron scattering with Pomeron loops
We discuss new physical phenomena expected in particle production in hadron–hadron collisions at high energy, as a consequence of Pomeron loop effects in the evolution equations for the Color Glass Condensate. We focus on gluon production in asymmetric, ‘dilute–dense’, collisions : a dilute projectile scatters off a dense hadronic target, whose gluon distribution is highly evolved. This situati...
متن کاملInclusive Hadron Production and Dijets at Hera
The HERA storage ring provides beams of protons at 820 GeV and positrons at 27.5 GeV energy. Collisions of these are recorded at two general purpose detectors, H1 and ZEUS. Measurements of the hadronic final state in deepinelastic scattering and in photoproduction processes allow precise tests of the validity of perturbative Quantum-Chromo Dynamics (pQCD). In addition the extraction of the stro...
